Production Workflow
The AI Filmmaking Workflow: Idea to Finished Film
A reliable AI filmmaking workflow separates creative decisions into stages. Each stage produces something the next one can use, preventing expensive generation before the story, look, and coverage are ready.
Develop the story
Begin with a logline, treatment, audience, target runtime, and emotional ending. Define what must remain understandable even if individual generated shots are imperfect.
Design the production
Create character and location references, a visual bible, script breakdown, shot list, and rough animatic. Mark continuity requirements and identify the shots most likely to fail.
Generate and record
Produce short, numbered clips with stable references and saved settings. Record dialogue, ambience, effects, and music under terms that permit the intended release.
Edit, review, and publish
Cut for meaning and rhythm, repair continuity with inserts and sound, add captions and credits, document AI use, confirm rights, and publish a permanent canonical film page.
