Strong primary proof
- An email address published on the creator’s or studio’s official website
- A creator-controlled channel or portfolio crediting the film
- An official studio, producer, distributor, or festival record naming your role
- A signed authorization from a documented rights or production contact
- A small requested update to an official page that only its owner can make
Useful supporting proof
- Consistent credits across a portfolio, festival listing, and official release
- A company-domain address matching the production entity
- A public representative or management page connecting you to the creator
- A dated production document that can be corroborated independently
Not sufficient by itself
- A matching display name or newly created social account
- Unverifiable screenshots, forwarded messages, or cropped documents
- A private message from an account with no official connection
- Knowledge of public facts already shown on the film page
Different requests, different review
Choose the authority you actually have.
Individual creator
Use a creator-controlled address or official channel. For a stage name, show the public connection without sending unnecessary identity documents.
Team or studio
Name the entity and your role. Explain whether you can represent the whole team or only your own credit and contributions.
Agent or distributor
Provide a public representation link, company address, or authorization from the creator or rights holder covering profile changes.
Correction source
You do not need to claim control to report an error. Link the primary source and request the smallest accurate correction.
Consent and boundaries
A profile claim is not a rights transfer.
You keep ownership of your films, artwork, names, trademarks, voices, likenesses, and other protected material. The request permits Cinema Marketplace to review the information you send and, if accepted, use the approved factual details and links on the relevant editorial profile.
A claim does not grant permission to download, rehost, sell, rent, license, train on, or commercially exploit a film. Paid distribution requires separate rights verification, commercial terms, and an agreement. Public embedding remains tied to the settings and terms of the official video source.
Send only the personal information needed to verify the request. Do not email government identification, passwords, model releases containing private addresses, or confidential contracts unless the editorial team specifically requests a safer verification step.

What does claiming a profile give me?
An approved claim creates a verified editorial contact path for corrections and additions. It may let you supply a biography, complete credits, production context, official links, and additional work. Cinema Marketplace does not currently provide creator login accounts or direct self-publishing.
What proof is strongest?
An email address published on an official website or channel, a reply from the address used by the credited production, an official profile linking the work to you, or a signed statement from the producer, studio, distributor, or rights holder.
Can I correct a profile without claiming it?
Yes. Choose the correction-only role and provide a primary source supporting the exact change. We may verify the request with the creator or rights representative before editing sensitive credits or removing a profile.
Can a manager, producer, or studio claim for a creator?
Yes, when the requester can demonstrate authority to represent the named person or team for profile changes. The review may ask for confirmation from an official company or creator-controlled address.
Does a claim transfer my film rights?
No. A claim confirms an editorial contact and authority to request profile updates. It does not transfer copyright, grant an embed or distribution license, authorize rentals or sales, or create exclusivity.
Can I ask for a profile or film to be removed?
Yes. Identify the exact profile or film, explain your authority, and provide a reliable source or contact path. We prioritize credible consent, safety, impersonation, and rights concerns while preserving an accurate editorial record.
Is a claimed profile automatically a Founding Filmmaker application?
No. Claiming keeps an existing profile accurate. Founding Filmmakers is an optional, separate path for creators who want to help shape future discovery and licensed marketplace systems.
How long does verification take?
Timing depends on the clarity of the proof and whether another credited party must be contacted. Complete requests from an official address are generally easier to verify; no response time or approval is guaranteed.
